Xie Kee Hokkien Mee |
It was a major disappointment. I didn't really like the food for some reasons. Let's start with the food itself. It tasted blend. I mean, it tasted salty but that's it. I didn't taste anymore spices that went with the food. I didn't know how he cooked it but probably he simply put the noodle, bean sprout, a shrimp, and other tiny seafood pieces (baby octopus, etc) into a boiling chicken broth in the frying pan. And served it just the way it is. Well, that sucked.
I expected to have noodle with something. Not noodle + bean sprout with something. If the noodle to bean sprout ratio was more like 70:30, I could understand... oh he was trying to cut cost maybe. But if it was more like 50:50 and the portion was too small then it lead to major disappointment. Oh did I mention that the taste was blend? It tasted like salty warm water plus noodle plus bean sprout and more.
Overall: since this is the only food that they offer, I will not go back to this place again. Even though it was only S$3.00 (small) and S$3.50 (bigger size), it's still expensive considering the taste and portion it offered.
Rating: Food: C- (Taste: C-, Portion: C-, Price: C-), Place B (cleanliness: B-, service: B+, ambiance: Market).
